promises to help you lose several pounds in as little as a week or two that
come flooding on TV, magazines and the wed today. Health wise these fad diets

about fad diets is its promises of helping you lose weight quickly and with a
minimal effort in your part. Time and again health experts claimed that the
only way to effectively lose weight and keep it off for a long-term is through
changes in life style, adapting a healthier diet and regular exercise. But this
effective way is neither easy nor quick contrary to what fad diets offer. With
fad diet, unfortunately most of the weight you will lose is just water weight.
The moment you stop the diet and resume to your normal lifestyle, you will gain
the weight back with a few additional pounds.
2. Disrupted Metabolism – Eating a structured amount of food
on a structured schedule required in fad diet ends up on altered metabolism.
Going against your body’s natural way when to start eating and when to stop
eating will result to a negative impact to your metabolism, these negative
effects can last long after your diet.
3. Malnourishment – Restrictions on eating on certain
food is required in fad diet, cutting on carbohydrates can lead to serious
nutritional deficiency. Carbohydrates are significant sources of energy. Lack
of carbohydrates can cause fatigue which will eventually lead you not to
function normally.
4. Muscle and Hair Loss – Fad diets cause nutrional
deficiency, this can lead to health challenge like hair loss and muscle loss.
Lack of protein will cause breakage and shedding of hair since your hair needs
a good deal of protein to grow and thrive. A low-calorie diet will make your
body look for another ways to get energy; one way to get that energy is
digesting your muscles.
